Dematic is an international supplier of materials handling systems, software and services. Dematic designs and manufactures individual products and material handling equipment such as automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) and different types of conveyors, sortation systems as well as order picking systems.
Brief
Australian Security was approached by Dematic to supply a stand-alone Access Control system for Dematic at a warehouse & factory within Victoria. The installation of an Access Control System is required to control visitors to the site (via reception) in addition to employees accessing specified areas within the premises.
Proposal
Following our briefing, our integration specialists recommended an Access Control System with a 4 Door IP Controller be installed. Considering the size of the premises and customer briefing/requirements, Australian Security proposed & subsequently installed the following Access Control Equipment for Dematic:
- 1 x 4 Door Controller IP
- 3 x Prox Readers (Slim)
- 2 x Lockwood Monitored Electronic Door Strikes
- 1 x Mag Lock
- 1 x FEM2646 Bracket for FEM3500D
- 1 x Push to Exit Steel Button

Outcome
The objective of the new security system was to control access to specific areas of the premises for visitors and employees. Post-installation, the team at Dematic are satisfied with the functionality of the system and reported positive developments in line with the original briefing and stated work requirements.
