Client Profile:
The homeowners, living in Metropolitan Melbourne, reached out to Australian Security inquiring about options to upgrade their outdated, audio-only intercom system to a modern video intercom system. Concerned about security and the preferences for visual screening/verification, they requested a site assessment so our experienced team could review and provide option(s) for a possible upgrade solution.
Challenges:
Outdated Audio-Only System: The existing intercom system at the home had an external station located at the gate with internal station indoors. The entire system was an outdated and non functional audio-only system, limiting screening possibilities at the property.
Desire for Video Capability: The clients expressed a desire to upgrade to a video intercom system to improve security and enable visual verification and communication with visitors at the gate. The possibility to add Video capabilities to an Intercom System was entirely dependent upon the state of the existing cabling due to the impossibilities to run a new cable between the gate and internal stations.
App Compatibility: Requirements for a solution that allowed modern app compatibility, allowing them to receive calls when they’re from the property and control the intercom system from their phone/tablet(s).
Gate Release with Electric Strike: Requirements for the gate release via electric strike to be fixed and functional with the ability to remotely release the gate lock using the intercom system. This enhances convenience for visitors and deliveries.
Replacement of Multiple Internal Screens: To ensure accessibility and convenience on both levels of the home, the clients requested for both existing internal stations to be replaced and upgraded to allow easy communication with visitors at the gate.
