Objectives:
Comprehensive Internal House Protection: Install an intrusion alarm system equipped with multiple keypads for the separate entrances, PET friendly sensors (upstairs and downstairs), reed switches for doors to provide full coverage of the home and partial arming capabilities.
Pet Compatibility: Ensure the alarm system can differentiate between human intruders and pet movements to prevent false alarms while maintaining reliable intrusion detection capabilities – PET friendly detectors up to 45 kgs were deemed suitable.
Remote Monitoring: Integrate the alarm system with a reliable mobile application to enable remote connectivity, allowing the clients to receive notifications and self-monitor/control the system from their smartphones/tablets.
Ease of Use: Provide user-friendly keypads and intuitive interfaces to facilitate easy operation and configuration of the alarm system for the clients when at home and away from the property.
Solution:
After a detailed assessment of the client’s requirements and property layout following an onsite appointment, Australian Security proposed the following intrusion alarm system solution to be implemented:
Multiple Keypads: Installation of multiple keypads at the two main entrances for the home including front and rear doors, to provide easy access for arming and disarming the alarm system. Alarm entrance delays were shortened due to strategic placement of both keypads.
PET Friendly Sensors: Utilize PET friendly motion sensors equipped with advanced technology to detect human intruders while ignoring the movements of their pet golden retriever (weighing up to the threshold), ensuring reliable intrusion detection without triggering false alarms. The clients advised they were not planning on adding any additional pets to their family in the foreseeable future – if cat(s) were potentially new additions in the future, alternative sensor types would’ve been proposed. Sensors were installed both downstairs and upstairs.
Reed Switches for Doors & Windows: Australian Security installed reed switches on specific doors and windows, to detect unauthorized access or tampering at these locations, which would trigger the alarm system in case of any breach.
Remote Connectivity: Integrate the alarm system with a dedicated mobile app, allowing the clients to receive instant notifications on their smartphones in the event of any security breaches or system alerts. The application also provides remote arming and disarming capabilities, enabling the clients to control the alarm system remotely. Keypad connectivity to the clients onsite network was programmed to allow this functionality.
User Training: Provide comprehensive training to the clients on the operation of the intrusion alarm system, including instructions on arming, disarming and troubleshooting potential common issues, ensuring they are well-equipped to utilize the system effectively.
