Residential Access Control Case Study

Client Profile:

The homeowner, who resides in an Inner Melbourne suburban neighbourhood, was seeking to enhance the security and convenience of their residence with a modern access control system. With a focus on the latest facial recognition technologies, they desired an access solution that included multiple facial recognition screens installed at the front gate, front door and garage, providing multiple security entry layers. Additionally, they wished for integration with their CCTV surveillance and alarm system, allowing full control of all electronic security devices via a single platform.

Challenges:

Security Concerns: The client was concerned about unauthorized access to their property and sought a solution to enhance security and control access to all entrance points of the property.

Convenience: With a busy lifestyle, the clients desired a solution that provided convenient access control functionality without compromising security.

Integration: The client sought a fully integrated solution, comprising Access Control, CCTV Surveillance and an Alarm System all via the one platform – they didn’t want multiple different apps or platforms across different branded systems.

Modern Functionality: From the outset, the client expressed interest in the latest modern technologies and sought a reliable facial recognition system that could be reliably utilized.

Objectives:

Enhanced Security: Install an access control system with facial recognition technology to enhance security and control access to the residential property.

Convenience: Provide convenient access control with facial recognition screens installed at the front gate, front door and garage, removing the need for cards, fobs or keys.

Integration: Supply a system that integrates the access control system with a CCTV Surveillance and Alarm system to allow management and monitoring from a single app/platform.

Modern Features: Incorporate facial recognition technology to provide a secure and convenient access control solution for the clients.

 

Solution:

After an onsite consultation with the client and security assessment, the Australian Security team recommended and implemented the following solution:

Facial Recognition Access Control System: A Hikvision facial recognition access control system was installed, featuring high quality screens allowing and facial recognition software at all 3 x entrance points identified – the front gate, front door, and garage. This allowed authorized individuals to gain access to the property by simply presenting their face for recognition.

Integration with CCTV Surveillance and Alarm System: The Hik Access Control System control allowed integration with Hikvision branded CCTV Surveillance and Alarm System.  This allowed the client to utilize centralized management and monitoring through a single mobile application. This integration provided the client with seamless control and monitoring of all electronic security devices at their residence.

Mobile Application: A dedicated mobile application – the Hik-connect app was installed (no ongoing fees) and being compatible with iOS and Android devices, allowed the client to remotely manage, monitor and receive notifications for their Access control, CCTV surveillance, and Alarm systems from anywhere in the world. The application provides real-time alerts, remote access control and video verification functionalities for enhanced security and convenience.

Installation of Facial Recognition Screens: Facial recognition screens were installed at the front gate, front door, and garage, providing visual verification and authentication of visitors during the access control process. This enhanced security is ensures that only registered and authorized individuals are granted access to the property via these terminals.

Improved Security: The installation of the access control system with facial recognition technology has significantly enhanced the security of the residence, providing a secure and convenient access control system solution.
