Golf Course Electronic Security Case Study

Client Profile:

The client, a prestigious private golf club located in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne, sought to enhance security measures following recent incidents to safeguard their premises, clubhouse and golf course facilities.  With a variety of facilities available to members onsite, a custom electronic security solution incorporating CCTV Surveillance, Intrusion Alarm and Access Control was required.

 

Challenges:

Vast Coverage Area: The golf club’s expansive premises required a comprehensive electronic security system to cover various areas, including the perimeter, carpark, clubhouse, restaurant and different sections of the golf course.

Diverse Environment: The deployment of surveillance equipment needed to account for the diverse environment of the golf club, including outdoor areas, low-light conditions, carpark and varying terrain.

Security Integration: Integration of both CCTV surveillance, Intrusion alarm & Access Control Systems was necessary to provide a holistic security solution for the clubhouse and the surrounding areas.

Optimal Camera Selection: A combination of different camera types was required, depending upon the location to ensure optimal coverage and visibility across the facility.  The factors determining required camera type included distance, resolution and field of view.

Access Requirements: The Golf Club identified various restricted rooms and areas onsite requiring an Access Control solution to control authorized visitors with access credentials.

Solution:

Australian Security devised and implemented the following solution to address the client’s security requirements:

Site Assessment: Australian Security conducted a comprehensive site assessment to identify key areas requiring surveillance coverage, including the perimeter, carpark, clubhouse, restaurant and different sections of the golf course. This assessment informed the strategic placement of cameras to ensure comprehensive coverage across the site.  Additionally, understanding the access requirements for specific staff and internal coverage of the facilities, allowed Australian Security to propose a specific integrated alarm/access control system solution.

Camera Deployment: Multiple CCTV cameras were strategically installed across the golf club’s premises to provide surveillance coverage of critical areas. High-definition cameras with varying specifications, including turret, PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom), bullet and low-light cameras, were deployed to ensure optimal coverage and visibility in different lighting conditions and environments.

Alarm System Deployment: An intrusion alarm system was deployed to enhance security measures for the clubhouse. Internal motion sensors, reed switches, card readers and other security devices were installed to detect unauthorized access or security breaches and trigger real-time alerts to designated management and an external security control monitoring centre.

Integration and Monitoring: The CCTV surveillance and alarm/access control systems were integrated, allowing for real-time monitoring, recording and management of security events. Authorized personnel could remotely access live camera feeds, review recorded footage, access data logs and respond to security incidents promptly.
