Fintech Electronic Security Case Study

Project Overview:

The client, a software gaming company located in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, required a highly secure facility utilizing a range of electronic security technologies to safeguard their intellectual property, facility assets and comply with industry regulations. Australian Security was tasked with implementing an Integrated Electronic Security System comprising Access Control, Locks and CCTV Surveillance to ensure full coverage and protection of the premises.

 

Challenges:

High-Risk Nature: The Software Gaming company operated in a high-risk, high-regulation industry where intellectual property theft and unauthorized access were significant concerns.

Compliance Requirements: Compliance with industry regulations and data protection laws necessitated robust security measures to safeguard sensitive information.

Full Facility Coverage: The facility required comprehensive coverage with Access Control readers installed on all internal and external doors and CCTV cameras strategically placed to monitor all internal and external areas.  Due to the layout of the facility, this presented challenges for cabling to some areas.

Integration: The need for integration between Access Control and CCTV Surveillance systems to enable centralized monitoring and management posed a challenge, requiring a recognized brand that offered this cross system functionality.

Objectives:

Enhanced Security: Implement a highly secure Electronic Security System to protect the Games Software company’s intellectual property and sensitive data.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection laws through the implementation of robust security measures.

Full Facility Coverage: Provide full coverage of the facility with Access Control readers installed on all internal and external doors and CCTV cameras strategically placed to monitor all areas of the facility.

Integration: Devise a custom solution to enable integration between Access Control and CCTV Surveillance systems for centralized monitoring and management.  NDAA approved electronic security systems as a specific requirement.

 

Solution:

Australian Security designed and deployed a customized Integrated Electronic Security System tailored to the specific needs of the Software Gaming company:

Access Control System: Readers were installed on all internal and external doors throughout the facility, allowing for controlled access and monitoring of entry/exit points. Access Control permissions were configured based on employee roles and security clearance levels and these readers were installed with electric strikes for integration.

CCTV Surveillance System: High resolution CCTV cameras were strategically placed to provide full coverage of the facility, including entrances, corridors, workspaces and server rooms. The CCTV system featured advanced analytics capabilities for real-time threat detection and proactive monitoring with the exterior of the facility also fully covered.

Integration Platform: The integration integrate the Access Control and CCTV Surveillance systems, allowing for centralized monitoring and management from a single interface. This integration enabled security personnel to correlate access events with video footage for comprehensive security monitoring, access control and incident response.

Remote Monitoring: The Integrated Electronic Security System provided remote monitoring capabilities, allowing authorized personnel to access live video feeds and security event logs from any location, enhancing situational awareness and response capabilities.

Outcome:

Enhanced Security: The Integrated Electronic Security System provided the Software Gaming company with advanced security measures to protect their intellectual property and sensitive data from unauthorized access and threat actors.

Compliance: The implementation of robust security measures ensured compliance with industry regulations and data protection laws, mitigating the risk of breaches and subsequent regulatory penalties.

Full Facility Coverage: The Access Control and CCTV Surveillance systems provided full coverage of the facility, enabling comprehensive monitoring and control of access points across critical areas of the facility.
