Bosch 3000 Security System

The Bosch 3000 Solution Series is a great entry-level, Bosch alarm branded system primarily used in residential homes. It’s a good choice for a cost-effective alarm system with back-to-base monitoring, in addition to self-monitoring (via the Bosch RSC app). The 3000 Solution is an upgrade from the popular 880 System and is a reliable, stable, and modern alarm system.

Bosch 6000 Security System

The Bosch 6000 Solution Series is a premium, Bosch Alarm system used in both residential homes and commercial settings. Being a highly scalable, premium Alarm System with the ability to integrate Access Control, Australian Security recommends a Bosch 6000 Solution for both homes and business settings. As a premium, reliable and stable security Alarm system, the Bosch 6000 excels by allowing the ability to add optional modules.

Bosch 6000 Features

The Bosch 6000 System has many features with the main ones including:

• Integrated Access Control and Alarm System;
• 16 x Access Control Readers or Keypads;
• Full Text Menu Display for both Programming & User Control;
• Smart Card, Biometric and External Readers (with External Keypad Options);
• Up to 144 x Wired and/or Wireless zones as well as up to 990 x users;

Common Features & Differences between the Bosch 3000 and Bosch 6000

Both the 3000 and 6000 alarm systems have in-built dialers, meaning they’re able to connect to a phone line. However, the 6000 has the functionality to send an SMS (including zone information) if an alarm is triggered.

In comparison, the 3000 is only able to send dialling signals, meaning when answering your phone you’ll only hear an alarm noise (as opposed to seeing specific zone information).

Aside from the in-built dialers, both the 3000 and 6000 Alarm Systems can accommodate an IP module to connect to the alarm panel. In terms of wireless keypads, the 6000 can have a wireless keypad (removing the need to run cabling from the router) whereas the 3000 doesn’t have this option available.

Along with the built-in dialers, both the 6000 and 3000 are able to have an IP module to connect to the alarm panel. The 6000 can have a wifi (wireless) keypad which removes the need to run a cable to the router. Unfortunately, the 3000 doesn’t have a wifi keypad available, it also requires the IP module to have a static IP address, whereas the 6000 doesn’t.

Compared to the Solution 3000, the 6000 Solution shares similar features but has extra functionality available including the following:

• Ability to Add External Readers;
• Ability to Add Proximity Tags;
• Integration with Fingerprint Scanner(s);
• Night Arming Codepad;

Frequently Asked Questions

• How will the Bosch 3000 and Bosch 6000 Alarm Panels notify me in the event of an alarm?

The Bosch 3000 will notify of an event by sending domestic dialling signals – when answering the phone you will hear an alarm noise. It has the ability to call 2 x different numbers but it’s not possible to send SMS without an add-on module.

Alternatively, the Bosch 6000 has built in-diallers as well as the ability to notify via app or SMS when the alarm is triggered (with zone information).

• What happens if there’s no phone line?

Both the 3000 and 6000 have an optional GSM add-on that will call or SMS you. However, it will require a separate SIM card to be activated & billed by a mobile provider. The Aldi SIM card is currently the cheapest option available on the market (as at July 2021) billed at $5 per 365 days.

• What are the apps used for the Bosch 3000 & Bosch 6000 Alarms?

The Bosch RSC app (free) is used for the Solution 3000 whilst the MyAlarm iFob Control App is used for the Solution 6000 and has a one off cost to install it.

Some of the specialty add-ons available for the Bosch 3000 include the following:
